Mobility communication plays a crucial role at major events and roadworks. Within the European Innovation Challenge Mobility & Tourism Innovations 2026, Traffic Solvers' BaaS platform was selected as one of the winners within the Safety & Digitalisation category. Out of more than 125 European entries, our approach was chosen for its focus on clear, real-time and scalable mobility communication in practice.
About the European Innovation Challenge
The Mobility & Tourism Innovations 2026 challenge is organised by POINT& and EIT Urban Mobility and focuses on solutions that are ready for application at major events and urban mobility issues. Innovations will be judged within six categories, ranging from travel experience and accessibility to safety and digitalisation. Within each category, winners will be selected for collaboration, scale-up and implementation.
One challenge, two worlds: events and infrastructure
Although events and infrastructure works are very different, they share a similar challenge. The mobility situation is constantly changing, multiple parties communicate simultaneously and information often reaches people fragmented or too late. As a result, travellers, residents and visitors do not really know where they stand. This leads to stress, less acceptance of inconvenience and, in some cases, unsafe behaviour.
The BaaS platform for mobility communication
Traffic Solvers' BaaS platform is designed to make mobility communication clear, consistent and scalable. From a single platform, organisations can prepare and activate their communications, tailored to location, time and target group. The platform supports real-time updates, allowing information to move with changing circumstances at both events and infrastructure interventions.
Why good advance information makes all the difference
Good advance information makes for a better experience on the road. People leave better prepared, accept temporary measures faster and experience more peace of mind during their journey. This contributes to higher road safety and increases support for necessary interventions, whether they arise from an event or from maintenance and works.
From selection to application
As part of the follow-up process, we will present our platform in Vienna to policymakers and partners to explore how the BaaS platform for mobility communication can be deployed in practice. The focus here is not on experimentation for experimentation's sake, but on solutions that are actually applicable and scalable within existing processes.
Nice crowning achievement
Mobility becomes more manageable when people know where they stand. With this European recognition, Traffic Solvers takes the next step in further developing and applying the BaaS platform for mobility communication, for both major events and infrastructure projects.
