The Municipality of Stichtse Vecht deployed Traffic Solvers’ BaaS platform for digital communication regarding the roadworks on the Vogelweg. Reports failed to materialize, and satisfaction was 100%. Why was that? You can read below how we handled this.
“The deployment provided us with additional opportunities to communicate with the surrounding area in a targeted and flexible manner. Our goal was to optimally inform local residents and road users and to limit inconvenience as much as possible. Given the very low number of reports, this was very successful.” – Municipality of Stichtse Vecht
Digital as an additional tool
Roadworks on the Vogelweg affected accessibility in the surrounding area. The municipality wanted not only to inform residents and road users in a timely manner but also to offer them a clear course of action. Digital communication proved to be a valuable addition to existing communication tools in this regard.
Targeted communication
Campaigns were distributed via six social media channels through the BaaS platform. Using geofencing and target audience selection, messages were specifically shown to people located in or around the project area who were actually affected by the nuisance.
Wide reach and many visitors
The campaign generated approximately 395,000 impressions during the deployment period. In addition, about 1,900 people visited the municipality's project website to view additional information about the works, schedule, and phasing.
Positive appreciation from the community
In the final phase, a digital survey was distributed to gather experiences regarding the communication. This survey (N=51) revealed that all respondents were satisfied with the communication via social media. This case study thus underscores that digital nuisance communication can contribute to a better-informed and more engaged community.
